How to Mount LED Strips

Method 1: Aluminum Channel (Best Results)
Aluminum channels provide:
- Heat dissipation (LEDs last longer)
- Diffused light looks professional
- Clean, finished appearance
- UV protection for outdoor use
Installation:
- Measure and cut channel to length
- Screw or adhesive-mount channel to surface
- Peel and stick strip inside channel
- Snap on diffuser cover
- Connect power and test
Method 2: 3M VHB Tape (Quick)
- Use for temporary or indoor installations
- Clean surface with isopropyl alcohol first
- Press firmly for 30 seconds
- Works best on smooth, clean surfaces
Method 3: Outdoor Permanent (Roofline)
For permanent holiday lights:
- J-channel or L-track mounted under roofline/eave
- Insert pixel strip inside channel
- Use silicone caulk at ends/joins for waterproofing
- Leave 5mm expansion gap every 5m for temperature changes
Corner Techniques
- Miter cut — cut channel at 45° for 90° corners
- Flexible connector — use corner connectors between channel segments
- Minimal bend radius — strip can bend to ~30mm minimum (check datasheet)
